Combine visual creation of HTML elements with feature-rich text editing.
The complete solution to web authoring, WebDesign gives you full control over your web site code, design and structure allowing you to develop fast, efficient and the most compatible code possible. Providing support for HTML 4, XHTML, Cascading Style Sheets, PHP, ASP, Javascript, XML, VBSCript and more, there is nothing WebDesign can't handle. WebDesign was built with extensibility in mind. Add even more functionality with the free, visual plug-in development environment.
If you have no html background, this is not the program for you. However, if you've been spending your time with notepad and are sick of hand coding, this program is great! It gives you the complete freedom of direct html writing, with buttons to give you the code if you don't want to bother typing it.
For students, the purchasing price is very inexpensive, and mine came with a free year of web hosting. I really couldn't ask for much more.
The best web page coding tool available for the Mac.

Summary
WebDesign is awesome! I have tested nearly every web development tool on both Mac and PC platforms, and WebDesign is my favorite! The work environment is text-based, but extensive HTML and JavaScript tools, syntax coloring, and live previews make life easy. You'll be hard pressed to find another web page editor of this quality. I give two thumbs up!
Left too much for you to know...

Unfortunately, this program requires the user to know an intermediate amount of web design... a good command of HTML is needed...
Just learning this, so not a great judge.

Just learning and this is where I started.
Tried it briefly, but sluggish.

Summary
Seemed sluggish and consumed too much processor time (350MHz w/ 384 MB RAM). Delay on both opening windows and typing text. Takes nine bounces in Dock to launch.
Not as easy to use as they'd have you think

Maybe I was spoiled by products you pay for in the PC world like Front Page, but this package left a lot to be desiered as far as eas of use / GUI interfacing was concerned. I had no choice but to do most of my coding by hand using this package.
