YUCK! JUNK! Waste of time.

- Super poor 'customer service'...I had Norton on my machine at the time of purchase in November. In February, suddenly Norton ripped them out as a Trogen. They refused to issue even a partial refund because I had not asked for a refund within '3 days'

- PLEASE avoid these scam artists. There are plenty of places to spend your hard earned bucks that offer decent product for your money. Most want to serve their customers, actually looking for repeat sales. Betcha these criminals don't have a single repeat sale anywhere in their books!! Most consumers are trying to get their money back! Deadbeats!!

- Several attempts to get it to work using CHAT people, wrote trouble tickets. Told them I'm reporting them to my VISA company. Got a nasty reply that time which scared me to no end. They have my money and I have nothing.

- Warning, you have 5 days to return the program....then it yours no matter what. If it doesn't work like what happened to me, you're sunk! I tried and tried, Chat people responded to me like they were reading from a book over and over again. Only time I got an answer which wasn't scripted what when I was told just what they would do if I tried to get my money back. It scared me into not trying. Wish I had read these reviews before buying their program.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Mar 19, 2009<p/>I copied their response to here it is in their own words: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ You are not being scammed. We have hundreds of thousands of people every day using the software, including the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, US Marshals, LAPD, etc... surely they would not trust us if we were scamming our customers? There must be something seriously wrong with your computer. I will advise you that if you dispute the charge, we will lock your account and give Visa the terms and conditions that you agree to prior to purchase and installation as well as at every log in. You will also be required to pay the fee that Visa charges us after it is decided in our favor. We are parents too, and we want to help you with your child. Your software is not even registered right now so of course you will not see any data being uploaded!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I did register the program but it still wouldn't work.

- Not only does this software not work half of the time, their support is virtually non-existent. I have spent several weeks trying to get this working on Two different machines and the best they have been able to suggest is to re-boot. I am giving up and looking for something else.

Works OK if your system supports it. Beware though if you have a modern system, doesn't work at all on 64-bit Vista.

- It is too random. It works and then it stops working. I even hit the hot keys when it was not blocking sites to make sure that the software was set to block and the hot keys would not work. That indicated that the software had just decided to quit running. When it worked it worked well but it only worked about 5% of the time. When I am trusting software to protect my kids online I need 100% protection, 100% of the time. To their credit they want to try to fix it but that is about all they do. After a total of 38 combined hours dealing with this software using techs and them taking over my computer with the promise they would fix it, I asked for a refund and was told that I was beyond my 10 day refund period. This company has no confidence in their own product or they would have a better refund period and back it with a better satisfaction guarantee. You cannot try software for 10 days and tell if it will work for you. It should be noted that I first asked for the refund before the 10 day period was up and they got me to allow them to take over my system and fix it. It was fixed for about 3 hours and stopped. This take over happened atleast 4 times lasting in excess of 4 hours each time. I even formatted my system and reinstalled everything trying to get this software to work. So I have tried to get it to work. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY OR ANYTHING ELSE AWARENESS TECHNOLOGIES SELLS!

- I am a software developer and I know junk when I see it. I want to protect my children from being able to go to adult websites, so I purchased this software. Boy what a mistake, from the beginning I had to wait online for a person to assist me with installing the software directly on my computer. Not sure why thay had to get on my computer to install the software, was very leary about this, I had to wait a long time for this to happen. Once installed I started testing the software I was able to make it not work correctly within minutes. I tested it because many children who are technically savy might find a way to make it not work. I then asked for a senior technician to work with me on the problem. I have to give her credit she work for about 4 hours. Still they could not get it to block these sites correctly. Because it did not work as advertised I sent a request immediately(same day) to Awareness Technonogy accounting department for an immediate refund on 7/2. I have asked to be refunded 3 times still Awareness Technology will not give me my money. The 5th time called the same person answered the sales, billing and technical support line that really scared me. <p> <p>If you want a good system that would protect your kids, I would suggest you find other software, if you go with this one all you'll get is a headace and the run around and maybe your money after a they have made the interest off of it for over a month and a half. Email me if you want to know how to simply break this system from working with a few keystrokes.
