This free program lets you play the classic Stratego board game online, but it lacks compelling features and makes you jump through too many hoops. Web Stratego comes with three skins, but overall, the graphics are merely average. Unfortunately, the program only lets you compete against other players on the Web, so you can't simply fire the game up and get going right away with a computerized opponent. Before you even can join an online game, you'll have to devise a strategy in a separate window, and once that tedious process is through, you'll still need to know the other player's IP address before combat can begin. Gameplay mimics that of the original game and presents just as much of a challenge, but it's unfortunate the program lacks any compelling features. This freebie best suits war-strategy buffs who download it amongst a group of friends.

Cannot play behind Firewall, Poor Graphics, Looks like a University Project - very amatuer look. Did the programmer steal the name Web Statego? Compared to competition this site just doesn't cut it.

Can't host game if behind firewall. <p>No online support of any kind (tracking of results, ranking, clans, etc). <p>Stole name of other well known online Stratego service. <p>Buggy. <p>Only supports classic - no UL or barrage. <p>Only supports Windoze.
