Players can dismantle the environment down to its smallest voxel, allowing for creative problem-solving and destruction. However, the terrain transformation may lack long-term appeal, as it could feel repetitive over time. While the freedom to alter the landscape adds variety, the novelty may wear off after extended gameplay.

The game’s combat is dynamic, offering a wide selection of weapons to tackle mutated creatures. Firearms, melee, and spells each have their benefits and tactical uses. However, combat may feel repetitive over time as you encounter similar creatures and strategies. While you must adapt to the environment and resources, the lack of variety in combat scenarios can make it feel less engaging as the game progresses.

Additionally, it introduces a mystery element involving the spreading ooze, which alters the terrain and presents new challenges for the player. The in-game editor allows players to create their own realms, adding a unique customization aspect to the game. Players can design new gameplay experiences and quests. Though co-op is not yet available in the demo, solo play offers plenty of content, including quests and items to be found or earned.
