The Volcano Kit iTunes Visualizer analyzes the frequency/amplitude information in your music as a basis to create a rich, information based visual environment. The plug in allows you to control the number, responsiveness, and color of the bands shown. The visualizer also displays info on the currently playing track at all times. Universal Binary.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I know it's not super jazzy and all that, but I like it for its simplicity - I'm a minimalist at heart. I've never cared for the ADD "look at me" plug ins. They're cool at first, but you get tired of them quick. Volcano succeeds where the others just can't get over themselves. It's the plain T-shirt in your closet that goes with everything and never goes out of style. Bravo!
simple, yet very elegant

Volcano Kit: this name threw me off, because I was expecting something completely different, something vulcano-like. Glad it wasn't. This is minimalistic, pure, very estheatically pleasing. Shame though the developer hasn't put in the option to choose your own color. You can only choose the one color. Yes the iPod white color that is!
What a relief!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I'm a big CPU watcher and this new version is GREAT! Rarely do I see a program fixed so it doesn't hit the CPU so hard and this one is using less than half what it used before, with no performace hit! Fantastic! Now I can use it all the time without my powerbook catching on fire! Thanks for a great update to a cool visualizer! Can't wait for color options, smoke trails, and perspective shifts! :-]

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Really good visual plugin!
The reactivity is excellent and it's very nice to look at.But I also have the 2fps prob in console.
The preferences are not saved too.
The plug need to have more options like colors or anything else, but I'm sure this will come.
What's about a 3D viewing with a cam orbiting around "dancing buildings"?

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Very responsive and high frame rate. Looks very professional. However, what I'd really like is something more like the old Apple example plugin in the OS 9 iTunes plugin SDK called iTVPlugin -- graphing a highly detailed spectrum analysis over time, using color to depict the amplitude of a certain band. This looks really cool for electronic music, which uses a lot of harmonics. Could the author do this as an option in this plugin?
Good idea but....
