Visual Web Task parses Web sites for any download and extraction need. It parses HTML and extracts data from any Web site. It can navigate to the next page depending on extracted data. VWT offers a very intuitive user interface, powerful visual parsing and ability to download just what You want, not a whole web site. Examples include extraction the music albums images from search results, list of available online jobs and many others. Businessman can cut out the whole online business directories or verify prices of online stores. The extracted data can be stored in text files or ODBC databases while downloaded files can be saved on local drive.

I used the demo version to gather specific information from a web site but after many tries (following the documentation exactly) was unable to get it to work. The documentation is terrible and the examples show the end product but not how they got there.
Would be good, if it worked.

I agree with the previous posts - the program hangs up under Win2K. I never got to the point of being able to define data to extract, which was the whole point of trying the software. It hung up before getting to that point. I'm not sure if that's a feature of the evaluation version, but at $150, the price is too high for me to shell out the cash to find out. A great concept - I'd buy it if it worked as advertised.

This product, although PROMISING terrific functionality and a nice user interface, is full of bugs. We bought it and lost $150. The documentation states the software will do batch file input, but it won't. Buttons don't work, such as the Load from File button in the "Batch File Generator." The software hangs in Windows 2000, although we covered all the "Known Bugs" section on Lencom's website. It worked better on Windows XP, but it still didn't cut it. If you want to save yourself time and don't want to waste your money, look elsewhere for software that has value. After e-mailing and calling Lencom support, they gave us a 2-line e-mail response which didn't answer any of our detailed questions. The phone call resulted in vague responses by someone with a thick accent who doesn't know English well, and could not offer a solution or work-around. It is not even average beta software. The features are there, the functionality definitely isn't. The documentation is for the most part useless, and also is written in very poor English. One screen shot is often given as an 'explanation.' It would be terrific software IF it worked, but it DOESN'T. Kiss your money goodbye.

I bought this product since it has the ability to save results into an ODBC database. It does occasionaly lose connection with the web site you are spidering. lencom support said it was due to the web site. Anyways, it is a good product for the money.

Product: Good concept, very stable but quite slow to scrape data from webpages and often loses connection to webpage. Support: No telephone support - e-mail only. Support period only 1 month. No free upgrades at all.

Dissabling the save function is silly as you are not fully ablwe to evaluate the product. There are a number of operational bugs and the documentation is extremely poor. I spent two hour trying to make it work and eventually gave up. I suspect that the other comments were from staff!
