  Very fast to download and install. Pick your arrow size or no arrow. Reboot and your done.

  Took me too long to remember to look for it.

  Pros

  Does what it is supposed to do, gets rid of the too great shortcut arrows. However, while completely removing those arrows is possible even manually (in registry!), the real value of this program is the smaller arrow it brings. I like having the arrow, as small as possible, but existant. Having no arrows at all can create many problems and confusions in my experience (people dragging exe files to desktop thinking they got a shortcut, drag-dropping "documents" to a portable medium only to find it was a shortcut - later, at the destination computer etc.)

  Cons

  Nothing really. Someone mentioned it would be nice if it's portable, but I'm afraid it's not quite easy or even possible due to the way it works.

  Removed arrows and replaced them with old style windows box that has the tiny icons in them. Tried to reinstall the shortcut arrows (they at least look better). Will not let me do that either.

  Pros

  To get this to work on my Windows 7 SP1 machine, I just had to press "no" to the automatic logoff. Pressing "Yes" prompted me with an error message that closed the program, but by logging off manually I was able to get the thing to work.

  Cons

  Took a few goes to get it to work properly. It does what I want now though so I am very pleased with it.

  The Vista shortcut arrows, which used to take up 25% of the shortcut icon, now barely take up 5% of the space!

  MicroSquish proves, once again, that you can take something that works or is aesthetically fine, and screw it up, royally, with a "new" operating system (what kind of alpha, much less beta, testing do they do, and with whom? The Jacka$s guys??? Beavis &#38; Butthead??? Anyone who thinks faux-wrestling is real???). Regardless, this software eliminates one annoying piece of the MS puzzle it calls an operating system! It's simple to use, free, and works on my Win Vista 32-bit Home Version SP2 system.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Mar 14, 2012<p/>FYI: The reboots were just to make sure that it kept the arrows/settings as I wanted them. Also, I suppose the program could be a start-up task that always runs when the computer is rebooted, but I can find no evidence in that in the MS config start-up or Task Manager or Admin Tools or anywhere else.

  You must install it. I'd rather it was a portable app.

  Summary

  I don't know what's up with the negative reviewers. It appears one tried it on XP which it's not designed for, and another babbles about IE8 which it has absolutely nothing to do with. This program worked as advertised for me, it's free and there are no ads. Where's the motivation to rip you off??? Worst case you might have to run it as administrator of lower your user account settings temporarily.

  Not a thing! Installed tried to use it. Error message. No good. Don't use this as it is a total waste of time

  Didn't work. Now I get to use more time getting it off my PC and looking for a product that will work. Don't use this. Listen to the negative reviews and don't be swayed by the positive posts as they are probably plants to get the download count up.
