UNHCR Verify-MY is a free mobile document verification app produced by the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Malaysia. The App enables law enforcement authorities and others who are engaged with UNHCR on refugee protection and assistance work, to verify the authenticity of refugee documents/cards issued by UNHCR. Verification with the App can be done by scanning a secure QR code which is printed on UNHCR Malaysias refugee cards and other official identity documents. UNHCR is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally, or to resettle in a third country. Aplikasi UNHCR Verify MY merupakan aplikasi peranti mudah alih percuma yang direka khas oleh Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu Mengenai Perlarian (UNHCR). Aplikasi ini direka khas untuk membantu pihak berkuasa tempatan, agensi undang-undang dan juga mereka yang terlibat dalam membantu pihak UNHCR dalam memberi perlindungan dan bantuan pekerjaan kepada pelarian dengan mengesahkan kesahihan identiti pemegang kad/dokumen yang telah dikeluarkan oleh pihak UNHCR. Pengesahan melalui aplikasi tersebut boleh dilakukan dengan mengimbas kod sekuriti QR Code (Quick Response Code) yang telah dicetak di atas kad pelarian UNHCR dan juga dokumen rasmi yang telah dikeluarkan oleh pihak UNHCR. Pihak UNHCR juga telah diberi mandat untuk memimpin dan menyelaras tindakan antarabangsa untuk melindungi perlarian dan menangani isu perlarian di seluruh dunia. Tujuan utama adalah untuk melindungi hak dan kesejahteraan perlarian. Selain itu, UNHCR juga berusaha untuk mendapatkan perlindungan bagi pemohon suaka dan juga mencari perlindungan yang selamat di negara lain, dengan pilihan untuk pulang ke negara asal secara sukarela, berintegrasi dengan penduduk tempatan atau penempatan di negara lain.
