• Beware: deceptive

  Don't know; didn't really try it.

  Cons

  There's a TrulyMail Lite, and a TrulyMail standard, both of which are "free." But TrulyMail Standard supports only POP3. If you want IMAP, you have to purchase TrulyMail Premium. They don't really ambush you with that until you've installed the program. I should have known from the fact that "Standard" is free that there was a catch.

  Pros

  Pretty easy to install & setup my email accounts. User friendly interface. Allows for an email to be delivered into your inbox without it being automatically opened. A nice feature if you don't know the sender. Mail loads quickly. So far no bugs.

  Cons

  Features are limited compared to Outlook Express. One quirk - You can't cut & paste stuff from an email to put it somewhere else, like a partial quote in another email or a confirmation # in records stored elsewhere on the computer.

• A great new version of a great product

  Pros

  They've most of the things they've been missing like message processing rules, tasks, finding within message contents, and they've made it faster, too. The new encrypted web message allows me to send encrypted messages to non-TrulyMail users.

  Cons

  They still don't have signatures and I'd like to see the ability to play a sound when a message is received from a particular contact.

  Summary

  TrulyMail 3 is still free (except the encrypted web messaging) and it is a wonderful upgrade. For those of us who've used it for a while, it is well worth the download (and you can't beat the price). For new users, you'll wonder why you didn't switch sooner.

  Summary

  TrulyMail is a free email client which includes its own encrypted private messaging network. It does what it says and it does a lot. If you use it for email, you will like that it has built in support for encryption and it has a lot of features not found in other email packages. The portable version can be run completely from a USB stick so you can carry your messages with you wherever you go. There are a few things missing like spell as you type and labels being applied to messages. Since they come out with new versions every month or two I would expect them to include these features soon (hint, hint). If you use Thunderbird (like I used to) you'll find a lot of similarities in TrulyMail. If you use Outlook with Exchange server, then you will not like TrulyMail much as it does not support Exchange Server at all. It is well worth trying. After all, it is free so you have very little to lose.
