Trend Micro HouseCall (32-bit) can quickly identify and fix a wide range of threats including viruses, worms, Trojans, and spyware. It is now faster, more powerful and browser independent. When a user starts Trend Micro HouseCall (32-bit) for the first time, a small executable (1.8MB) is downloaded. This launcher application runs locally and manages the download of local scanning components, such as the scan engine, configuration files, and pattern files. On subsequent scans, the launcher checks for existing scanning components and downloads them only when they are outdated. If you save a local copy of the launcher, you can use it to open HouseCall anytime.

You can easily being fooled to remove perfectly safe files due HouseCall telling you the file is infected, but they turn out to be perfectly safe with other a/v.

Summary
It's definitions need to be updated. I first ran HouseCall and it only found 1 infection, I then ran Malware Bytes and it found 30 more infections. It's an antiquated program.

Scanning could be MUCH better, threat detection is low, have to connect to internet for updates unlike Spybot S&D

Definately work trying but wish TM would make threat detection on HouseCall as good at their Internet Security Suits or Anti-Virus. I was using TrendMicro RUBotted on a PC (SUPPOSED TO GO TOGETHER WITH HOUSECALL WELL) and it said that RUBotted detected a Bot and it said clean with HouseCall. So I went straight out, downloaded lastest version of HouseCall, Applied updates, changed scan settings to FULL SYSTEM SCAN, and it found no bots..... Thats okay because my Avast fround it! =)

Pros
This fine scanner finds everything that the others don't. The only thing b etter would be Trend-Micro Pc-cillin Internet Security Suite. I prefer to use free Avast! with Housecall as a supplement. It finds all problems and even checks for Microsoft vulnerabilities. It'll refer you to a MS-Bulliton that needs to be addressed.

Pros
When I clicked on try it now I got redirected to trendmicro.com. Then I have to accept terms of use and launch house call. Next I have to choose java based kernel, or browser plug in kernel, to get it to download. <p>After it downloads it has to update malware, greyware and spyware information. Now it starts scanning and while I'm waiting for the scan to finish, they offer a 30 day free trial of pc-cillin internet security. <p>It scans all files and folders, and scans both c and d drives. After the scan finished it detected 15 cookies, cookies are harm less text files stored in my broswer.
Cons
It did not detect any spyware malware or any other infections at all. The scan takes over one hour to finish the scan, and gets stuck on a lot of files while scanning.
