Missing Sync for Windows Mobile is worth it!

Considering that Missing sync costs half of what I pay to fill up my vehicle, to have my most important data and files, music and photos, synched, backed up and easily accessible every day of the year is worth the $40.

Over the course of a few years I have used this software and upgraded to the later versions as well. I have found it not very reliable, to the point of frustration and data loss. I consider myself a smart user, since I've been with computers from childhood and I'm a programmer too. Sync and Go might turn out Sync and Lose for you.

I was told that syncing with my Windows mobile (on HTC Touch Pro) to Entourage would be seamless. I have been trying everything for the past 3 days. I finally got Calendar, Tasks and Notes to synchronize, though I really don't know what I did to make them work. Contacts still don't synchronique. Whereas chat facility is available quickly to get you to buy the product, I am still waiting for technical support. :-((

This really works well for the most part. I needed something to sync my Nokia e71x to my Macbook Pro and since Nokia did not offer a program to do that and the Isync program on the Mac is limited in what you can do this program filled the gap. You can sync either by cable or bluetooth etc which makes it nice. You can select what programs you want to sync and you can change them anytime. The only problem I have is that I have not been able to find out how to configure it to only sync when I manually request it to. It wants to sync automatically at selected time points. It pops up right in the middle of your doing something and you have to turn it off by doing several clicks etc. I would rather just be able to pull it up when I want it to sync at my request. Other than that it does exactly what you need it to. You can also do a back up of your devise as well with this program.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I had to upgrade from Missing Sync for Windows Mobile 3, since I had upgraded to Leopard (current version 10.5.3). The software installed and it recognices that something (my FJS Loox N520, one of the officially supported devices) is hooked up on a USB line. However, connection fails at the earliest stages, the device is not recognized, no synchronisation is possible. I completely fail to understand how this product could get out the door - it plainly does not work at all , even in the simplest circumstances. I did follow the "hints" at their support side (uninstall/reinstall, removed the old version from my PDA, etc.) Quality Assurance at MarkSpace seems to be non-existant. Not only have I wasted my money for the update - since their old version (3.0.x) does not work with Leopard, I am completely unable to Sync my PDA with my Macs. Especially contact and address data are precious and important for a user. The quality of the software is completely unacceptable for the level of confidence needed to maintain such data. Since nothing works, there is no point on commenting on Price, ease of use and features.
The worst software I've used on a Mac since 1986!!

MacBook, Ti, Pismo & G4 QuickSilver. this product pretty much caused problems on all of the computers. Crashing, missing files, sporadic disconnection at sync stages. I could go on. This is a worth while development, and yes shareware developers deserve backing and a way to earn funding. But this is a shocking bit of coding! Painful to remove, causes knock on effect with other application. I could go in depth and retentive, but I've wasted 8 days on getting to work and I done with it!!!!!!

I gave up trying to sync between Entourage and Ical, and just tried to make the Address Book sync work. Somehow M/S "lost" all the catagories in my Address book and wiped out my phone! Working with tech support, we bounced all around testing and trying things. Finally my demo time ran out. Support suggested I buy a copy and if it didnt work, request a refund. NOT! This app needs to be baked a lot more to work reliably. It has some great features, but sadly Entourage syncs to Ical and address book much more reliably. I am using Active Sync via Parallels to put my address and calender on the phone. Not recommended at all
