The Age of Hell for Windows

The Age of Hell is a free-to-play action game that draws inspiration from the classic DOOM franchise. Developed using the GZDoom engine, it offers a nostalgic yet fresh first-person shooter experience. Players take on the role of The Crusader, navigating through a vast array of hell-themed environments spread across six episodes. Each episode features unique monsters and two boss encounters, enhancing the gameplay with varied challenges and themes ranging from icy brutalism to Lovecraftian nightmares.

Visually, the game impresses with dynamic lighting and a fully realized 3D environment. The level design is intricate, providing plenty of exploration opportunities. While the gameplay retains the fast-paced action characteristic of DOOM, it introduces new holy-themed weapons and power-ups, including a powerful hammer. However, the game exhibits some imbalance in difficulty progression, starting off quite challenging before easing up later on, only to ramp up again towards the end.
