TB STARR for Android

The TB STARR (Tuberculosis Screening and Tracking for Accelerated Referral and Reporting) mobile app is intended to help clinical providers, laboratory scientists, patent and proprietary medicine vendors (PPMVs), and pharmacists manage the screening, referral, and reporting of presumptive and confirmed tuberculosis patients in Nigeria. Independent clinical providers can use this app as a screening tool and as a digital register to improve TB case notification to the National TB program. Networked providers that are affiliated with the Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Plus Project can also use TB STARR as a screening tool, a digital register, patient referral tracking, sputum sample tracking, and patient communication (SMS) functionalities. This app was developed by the SHOPS Plus Project implemented by Abt Associates, with funding from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and in collaboration with the National TB Program in Nigeria. Data collected through TB STARR and through paper registers is accessed by the national and state TB programs as well as the SHOPS Plus TB Program.
