Defend a space vessel under attack.

Tail Gunner is an arcade action game based on the classic video game of the same name. Your responsibility is to defend a cruising space ship under attack from hostile fighters. Sitting in the rear of the ship, you can fire two kinds of weapons to ward off the alien horde and eventually save earth from destruction. You can choose from easy, tough, or mega-hard difficulty settings. Don't get caught in the enemies tractor beams.

Pros
Simple, but fast and fun. <p>This game is randomized to never be the same twice, unlike many others. <p>Make sure and try the 'tough' and 'mega-hard' options by clicking on the big red line under the words "Tail Gunner" on the startup screen. The red arrow will move to indicate your choice. <p>There are 2 weapons for the player. The Muon Cannon ('x' key or mouse button) is effective at any range. <p>The Dark Matter Mines ('z' key) can hit multiple enemies, but are ineffective if the enemies are too close or too far away. <p>Make sure you kill any enemy quickly that catches you in it's "tractor beam".
Cons
This game was written to run under Mac OS 9.x. <p>It experiences problems if you try to run under Mac OS 10.x (using the OS 9 emulator). <p>Updates to run under Mac OS 10.x in progress...
