CPU HOG! Do not waste your time with this software!
fauxrillz
Pros
None whatsoever.
Cons
It eats up basically all of the CPU right at startup. It also doesn't seem to even work the way it claims to for the "services" it provides.
Summary
I had to remove this crap software while repairing a laptop and replaced it with Microsoft Security Essentials. The laptop struggled so hard to run this and wouldn't run any other applications until it was shutdown. I have informed the laptop owner not to reinstall this software and to use Security Essentials instead. I feel bad that people pay money for this.
Doesn't take EXPERIENCED user to know a dud!

Pros
Nothing good to report on the SS10.
Cons
I have used SystemSuite for 6 years and loved it... up until this year. It has problems and glitches for which Avanquest has sent me instructions for uninstalling, then reinstalling the corrected version. It is a waste of time. My PC is slower, crashes more often, and none of the 3 clean-up categories will get back to 100% (85% is best), and yet it reports my system is "fully optimized". NOT!
Summary
I will never use this program again and seriously regret not having read these reviews before I bought the new version. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I just bought a new laptop and would not even consider using up my 9 months remaining on license.
Does nothing that it claims to do

Pros
None that I've seen so far
Cons
After a dozen tries, still have not defragged 2 out of 3 of my hard drives.
After a dozen tries, still has not performed a successful Temporary File cleaning.
SS10 is a CPU hog. Computer becomes non-functional after an hour, requiring a restart.
Summary
After a week of corresponding with techs at Avenquest, I'm no closer to getting this software to work. I just hope the uninstall doesn't turn into the nightmare others have warned me about.
For a piece of software that is supposed to improve computer performance, System Suite 10 does just the opposite. If I wanted my computer to run slower, this would be the perfect software.
You don't own the software and utilities, it's a lease.

Pros
No more then others
Cons
Nothing special, othere programs seem to go deeper
Summary
From there advertising they make it seem you are buying a software program that you will own like any other software. No where do they say if you don't buy the subscription after a year, your serial number will no longer work and won't be able to use all the system suite tools you thought you purchased. They don't put this information anywhere in there advertising so basically sell you a full software program for a year, without letting you know you only get to use the software for a year, you don't own it. I have had upgraded to a few different versions over the years and never had that happen. They said it is because it is a virus program, that is only a small part of what it does and isn't advertised as such. Also other programs don't let you get updates, like they used to do, if you don't subscribe, but still let you use the program, especially if it has computer tools. Shows on there website that there program (system suite 11) gets 5 stars on Tucows, but tucows only has version 8 rated.
I need them to backup their product

Pros
I like the early version.
Cons
For a system cause it would not allow me to remove it like I am being punishment
Summary
This is what we, as people with purchasing power need you to do for us: Train your staff at all ends of the company line to take ownership of our issues until they are completely resolved instead of forwarding to another department or person. You need to follow up and get us done. Please respond to all requesting help or information in a timely matter with excellent customer service skilled. Anytime just one customer cannot get an issue resolved. It is a warning that problem will post it everywhere. It would not be a good idea for the Better Business Bureau to get a ton of complaints. There will always be customers but there may not always be company.
Not dependable since problems with their servers 6/2010
Bike2010
Pros
Everything worked fine except the antivirus malware updater
Cons
Antivirus does not update as it should. They had their servers go down in June 2010 it has not been dependable since them
Summary
It's over 1 month since their servers went down for over 1 week.and they have not been able to fix System Suite 10 dispite much time spent with 3 levels of Tech Support.
Does not update the Anti Virus /Malware and indicates that it does.
Excellent program for the money.
front242
Pros
Simple to use for the average user. One click it and 90 percent of your problems will be fixed. I actually offer my clients a 40% discount on repairs if they have this installed because it makes my job so much easier.
Cons
If non experienced users begin to tinker with some of the tools available, it is too easy for them to get lost. Firewall does not give enough information on some applications for most end users to make an informed decision on whether to block or not.
Summary
For the cost, the tools provided have no peer. About 45 dollars for three licenses cannot be beat. Get educated about how to use the product before you install. That goes for any product, as this will help you get past 99% of the problems you might face. I have yet to run into any moderate to minor issue that this cannot fix and have used it to repair many major issues. Beware of techs with little hands on experience, who recommend against this product. If they have used it extensively and do not like it that is fine, but I see too many self described computer gurus who obviously know little but speak much about this product.
Do not buy........

Pros
None. See cons.
Cons
Customer Support. The choice I made was based on the SS8 ver. SS9 was nothing but trouble at first and they admitted problems and to give it time for them to adjust. It consumed CPU usage and eradicated performance.
Summary
This program is connected with Vipre, Sunbelt.I bought in April 09. I have been trying to remove it for quite some time. After many searches and trying suggestions ,it's still on my computer. I contacted Avanquest,Sunbelt and got no response. I found 2 removers. 1 says you need a password and no one from Sunbelt responded to my inquire on obtaining the ps.The other won't download. Both are from Sunbelt. Avanquest still hasn't responded. If you go to SS10,.......caution, wait to see reviews. I want my money back.

SYSTEMSUITE deleted registry items, so that i cant open mp3, word, Utorrent files anymore
A jack-of-all-trades and master of most.
gletkin
Pros
Multiple applications that will optimize, protect, and clean up your computer.
Well integrated with both Explorer and PowerDesk.
Mature suite with excellent customer support. Licenses 3 computers for price of 1.
Cons
Annual virus and malware update fee after first year.
Menu system is complex and not immediately intuitive.
Sun Belt anti-virus engine is a CPU hog for several minutes after initial boot-up.
Firewall takes training to learn your preferences.
Summary
I've been using SystemSuite since version 3 was offered by OnTrack data recovery services. It has had a user driven maturation process, with logical improvements over the years.
The program has so many features that the menu system is complex for the newcomer. The Help feature can quickly familiarize a user with the many features of SystemSuite.
You choose from a general category of topics to be presented with another menu of specific applications. Some of the main menu choices seem to overlap: Fix & Maintain, Optimize or Cleanup may hold the registry tool you are looking for.
The Zip Menu choice contains a variety of apps that will never replace WinRar, but does offer a "repair" option that can often save your bacon .
The defrag, anti-virus, and anti-malware programs work well. SystemSuite's SunBelt anti-virus engine can really slow down an older computer for the first several minutes after booting up Windows. The firewall is very effective in daily use and scores well at GRC.com's "Shields Up" firewall stealth test. It has had some problems with high-speed downloads, occasionally locking up (or possibly being locked up by uTorrent).
The Restore menu item offers to create and manage system checkpoints, capture disk snapshots, undelete files beyond the Recycle Bin, and create rescue disks for emergency recovery of your system if a computer refuses to boot from the hard disk. It will ask you if you want a restore point created whenever a setup program is run, a minor annoyance.
The usefulness of the many integrated applications in SystemSuite can't be overemphasized. It is a natural match for its partner utility, PowerDesk, also from Avanquest. Individual file virus/malware scans and file shredding (overwriting multiple times) are a snap from within PowerDesk. Integration with Windows explorer is not as intuitive, at least to me.
OnTrack, and now, Avanquest customer support people have long provided quick response and useful answers to problems. With each new version of SystemSuite user input is apparent, as improvements are real and useful.
I use SystemSuite on five computers and am very happy with the results. It is on sale, often offering its three computer license for $40 or less. An annual renewal fee is charged for the anti-virus and anti-malware updates. The notices to renew appear during updates as expiration time nears, but the annual renewal is has been less than the purchase price.
SystemSuite should be rated more highly in comparison reviews with far less capable and more costly packages.
