• Monitors everything very efficiently

  Pros

  It can monitor everything on your network. It's easy to configure and use and it can send out alerts in any way you want it to. The web interface is easy to get the hang of. And it runs on all operating systems you care about.

  Cons

  There is not really much to dislike.

  Summary

  Very flexible. If there is not a build in check (from the server or by local agent) that does what you want, then it's easy to write your own custom checks either as shell scripts, or executable programs (in any language) and have their results report into Sysorb. It scales really well and is extremely stable even when monitoring a large number of hosts in great detail. It's crash resistant - the database is always internally consistent on disk. In case you need support there are qualified people ready to help with all aspects of the application. For an all-in-one monitoring and alerting solution for multiple platforms you will be hard pressed to find a better, more complete solution than Sysorb.

  Multiplatform - we use Linux and Windows. It really covers our needs. All functions that we could think of is allready there

  Design of graphical interface needs work done - but who cares we needed a product that works at a low price.

  Pros

  I had this product up and running in less than 30 minutes. The user interface is refreshingly easy to navigate, and is pretty snappy in responding. <p>This tool monitors everything we need to monitor and I would recommend it to anyone with a heterogeneous network.

  could not get it to work. The most amazing part is its help section, where they tell you everything, but actually tell you nothing. The manual was probably written by someone so engrossed in the system, he completely forgot about the end user. Lot of information, but no real instructions to do anything. The readme file that comes with the pacakage is incoherent. There is a huge manual, but no step by step instructions to actually set it up. This is a piece of dodo package.
