Create subtitled movies for your computer, MP3 player, cell phone or game console.
Submerge can easily create hard-coded subtitled movies for your computer, mp3-player, cellphone or game console. It will merge your subtitle file with your movie and create a new file that is suited for your needs. It supports almost all text-based subtitle formats and you can export the movie for the most common devices with just one click. It also has a fullscreen player built-in, so you can watch the subtitled movie directly within Submerge.
Costs $15.00 for a piece of software that takes hours to hardcode subs, and export into a video format that is exactly the same as the original?! Complete waste of money.
Summary
I'm shocked that cnet would be promoting software this bad. This software claims to quickly hardcode subtitles and export the files into various formats. In reality this software requires hours to do its job. I've rarely been so disappointed by a piece of software.
Good, worked as described and very easy.

Pros
Easy to use and very nice GUI. Very profesional looking result! Frequently updated, with built in automatic updater.
Cons
As the software hasn't the ability to sync film and subtitles, you need to get that fixed before merging.
Summary
As a deaf or hard of hearing person, I use to get quite upset every time I got a DVD without subtitles. Now I only go to Opensubtitles and get the .srt file for the film. Rip it with Handbrake, if necessary synch subtitles with the film in subsfactory and then merge in Submerge. A software well worth the $9!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The best app of it's kind. i could not find anything better(maybe RoadMovie).
It would be great if a future soft render option will be added!
There are many font and encoding (more then enough languages) options.
A little slow but that's QuickTime!
I f you need your videos on almost any device then you should buy it.
Great customer support

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This program is simply the best on the market . It is easy to use , fast and fun . What really makes it stand out so is the customer support . I had a problem with an srt file . I contacted customer support and received an answer within 2 hours . I was then told that it would be ok to send the srt file to them so they could have a look . Within another few hours i received a response back that the srt file had a lot of empty spaces . I thought that would be it BUT i also received the new beta of submerge that fixed the issue completely . NOW that is customer support , and all this was done in the time of less than ONE day .....AMAZING.If anybody is in need of a program like submerge i can only HIGHLY recommend it ..... Enjoy
speedy, works, good customer support

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This program is very simple and *very* fast. It did exactly what I needed, which was adding subtitles to a Quicktime movie, and did it in about 60 seconds --- which compares very favorably with the huge amounts of time various other programs seem to require for the same task.
I did run into a problem, which turned out to be the result of an improperly formatted .srt file at my end. It would have been nice if the program dealt with the problem more gracefully than just stalling and crashing on me! HOWEVER, when I contacted the developer, I received a response almost immediately, and after I sent him my subtitles file (at his request), he spotted the error right away, and I was in business. So I, for one, am very impressed with the support for this product.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using Submerge extensively to include subtitles in more that a hundred media files and it's an excellent product. It's very well done and produces merged video, sound and subtitle tracks for clean and easy to manage .mov files.
It's also quite affordable. Actually, at that price, it's a steal.
Highly recommended.
