  Pros

  Lots and lots of data permutation characteristics and ways to manipulate data to suit needs.

  Cons

  Very funky, often unreliable data feeds on USA stocks. Anything outside US markets is non-existent or unreliable other than last quote. Even FX is limited to USD conversions - no other currency comparisons available. Expensive product and several pricing tiers to access all functions.

  Summary

  I've been with these guys since early days. Market XLS has degraded in terms of global data and is now pretty much useless to any serious global investor.

  Pros

  Very nice to be able to work with market data with the powerful Excel engine.

  Cons

  Expensive and several price tiers before access is gained to all functions. Data (even US markets) is often unreliable and untimely. Data for non-US markets is minimal. Support and problem resolution is often very slow with deficiencies sometimes left unresolved for months.

  Summary

  Market XLS is a handy but expensive tool for casual investors in US markets who wish to manipulate securities data in their own format.
