This useful executable helps identify and disable unnecessary start-up programs. StartUpLite's simple single window interface contains all the information needed to operate the app.

Just run it and StartUpLite lists start-up programs it deems unnecessary. A short description is given for each item. Select programs also rate a short explanation describing how disabling the app would affect the system. Each listed program has three check box options to Disable, Remove, or perform No Action. Simply click to choose for each and press a single button to continue. The program removes or disables checked entries and recommends a system reboot.

StartUpLite doesn't offer a method to restore disabled programs, but presents a link to open Msconfig to perform the function. Less-experienced users should find this app helpful in uncovering unneeded start-up programs.

Expecting to see a helpful table of everything that is running at my startup, all I got when I opened it was a window with the message 'No unnecessary startups found'.

Does not detect most start up programs, on my pc I have loads of start up programs with really high impact and it only detected quicktime and java, which have low start up impact. Even msconfig is much better then this crap. DO NOT download it if you want your start up to be quicker, does not help with anything

When Start Up Lite is downloaded you have to save this file to the desktop. Then double click this file and click run. It only showed 5 out of 8 of my startup programs, and has three choices disable, remove, and no action. You can disable part of your startup programs, but they cant be re enabled by using Start Up Lite.
Cons
Every startup program that you disable requires a reboot, and can only be re enabled by using msconfig. If you dont know how to use the msconfig utility then Startup Optimizer is a better choice.
