• Easy to use; can't edit after save

  Pros

  A two-file zip file that doesn't require Windows registration makes this program a rarity. It correctly sorted my numerically named files (i.e., 1.bmp-10.bmp, then 11.bmp, etc), unlike some programs that put 10.bmp immediately after 1.bmp.

  Cons

  You cannot set the speed for individual frames, nor can you open a saved animated GIF file. You can only save the "list" file (i.e., the list of files used to create the initial animated GIF file) and use that as a basis (which isn't useful if you move the list file or original source files), or start from scratch (which isn't very user friendly).

  Summary

  If you use this with a frame-friendly GIF animator/editor program, such as MS GIF Animator, then it is a nifty combination. Otherwise, use SSuite GIF Animator with the knowledge that you can't edit individual frames and can't edit the resulting animated GIF file once it's created.

  Pros

  Simple, aesthetically appeasing and most important of all it actually lets you accurately adjust the frame speed unlike other programs which act as if you adjusted nothing at all.

  Cons

  It doesn't come up on page 1 when you type "gif animator" in the search bar.

  Summary

  For free, this is the best .gif animator you'll ever find.
