Editors’ Review
Solitaire is an OK port of the classic game, but the ads and lack of options stop it from being great. The game loses all of its replay value by only giving you a deck of cards to play the Klondike variation of the game. Other apps let you do that while giving you literally dozens of other options.
The game's layout very interestingly mimics the Vegas table layout. It looks neat, but the app gets the most annoying part of Vegas--the incessant advertising--in there, too. The persistent banner ad isn't just annoying; it actually gets in the way of the game. To make things a little easier, the app will finish plays for you to save you some taps and space. There aren't multiple modes of the card game in Solitaire; it's just the popular Klondike variety. Though this gives you literally thousands of game options, it gets really boring after a while. It doesn't help that you can't customize your game very much, either. At the very least, the app should support more than two different styles of card backs.
With thousands of similar apps in the Play Store, this app would have to do a lot to be the end-all, be-all Solitaire app. Sadly, Solitaire doesn't give enough options so even the most rabid Solitaire fans might get disappointed.
