Smoke Messenger is an open-source Instant Messenger that isknown as the first mobile Messenger worlwide using the encryption algorithm. McEliece, which is until now proven assecure and resilient against Quantum computing. It can be also downloaded at F-Droid.org or Github.com.Smoke provides with its own Server-Software - either SmokeStack-Server or a Spot-On-Server - a decentral Chat-Eco-System. Both servers are so called Echo-Servers, as they are using the implemented and encrypting Echo-Protocol. Hence, Echo-Servers process encrypted data packets and send an incomming message out again to all connected clients.Smoke Messenger uses the McEliece Crypto System. It isimplemented with four different Moduli. One is the classicmodulus, then two variants (one by Fujisaki/Okamoto), and theother variant has been recently published by the cryptography researcher David Pointcheval from France. And then there isSuper-Modulus of McEliece implemented: The Super McEliecehas as the common values: m = 13, t = 118. As signature scheme is the SPHINCS digital signaturescheme used. The 40 year old McEliece crypto algorithm is alsocurrently certificated for Quantum computing.
