SmartHanzi is a free yet professional grade tool for students and anyone wishing to read real Chinese texts (web, PDF…) even with a limited level in Chinese. It provides immediate and effective access to all words in a text in simplified or traditional characters. Links are provided to related words (containing, contained) and character details: stroke order, character series (e.g. Kangxi), etymology. Etymological indications refer to helpful reference points (basic character parts), reasonable or simply traditional, developed over centuries and well known by most Chinese.
