The app was created by Tom, Jay, Ben, and Archie in their Apps for Good course at Budehaven Community School in Cornwall. The team are all surfers and struggled to find clear data on the best surf spots in their area. They wanted to design an app with easy-to-read surf forecasts for UK beaches to help beginners and pros choose the best place to take their board.FEATURES View week-long surf forecasts including water temperature Find beaches near you or browse the UK Check user ratings for individual beaches and breaks Read data easily with clear icons and explanationsShoreCast won the My Planet category sponsored by Thomson Reuters at the Apps for Good Awards 2014, the national app competition for Apps for Good students.
