• Excelent but be prepared to be a tester/guinea pig

  Pros

  I've been using Shopfactory for over ten years and it's been a valuable tool for my businesses. With this software it is easy to set up webshops that have excellent functionality without any technical skills and the templates can be developed if you have the knowhow. The developers keep improving the software to keep up with the latest SEO, security, browser compatibility and other tech essentials. The forum is good place to get tips and help from other users.

  Cons

  Shopfactory launches new versions before they've been fully tested so users have to constantly fix bugs/glitches in their shops. When users have completed this 'free testing service' SF launches the next version. The previous version is then unsupported so you have to pay for an expensive upgrade. The alternative is their 'Total Care' package, software rental for a monthly fee and this includes all upgrades. The name might suggest that you're paying for premium support. However, this isn't the case in my experience and support responses often consist of pre-written replies that don't address the glitch/bug you've reported. This can leave you with a malfunctioning webshop, often for days or weeks at worst. SF will often develop and implement new features without consulting users and this can cause problems with SEO and webshop functionality. SF lags behind when it comes to aesthetics and if you don't know how to edit code, you're stuck with some fairly dull shop templates.

  Summary

  If you want easy-to-use software and a webshop with plenty of features and good functionality, then shopfactory is very good compared to the other packages I've tried. However, unless you have technical skills, the bugs and glitches can be hugely frustrating, time consuming and also damaging to your business.

  Pros

  Couldn't open any of my html files, so I don't know.

  Cons

  Couldn't open any of my html files; what, exactly is the point? This is a cookie cutter: if you don't care to include the functionalities they want you to have, too bad, you're going to spend the time setting them up. If you want to edit an existing html file which this software did not create, too bad.

  Summary

  Waste of bandwidth. Use something else.

• WOW ShopFactory 8 Total Care

  Pros

  I've used a number of different website solutions and this is by far the easiest and quickest solution I have found. I use it for every site now because it's flexible and reliable. Tonnes of features!!!

  Cons

  I have not really found one con so far, I use a Quad core system with 8G RAM in 64 bit mode on Windows and it flies through it's processes. Wish the icons had quick keyboard short-cuts though for most of my stuff to work quicker on common tasks.

  Summary

  As I mentioned, it has tonnes of features and some of them I'm just starting to use. There is a learning curve, but once you know the features - you'll be able to work quickly and do some other things you never even though of with your website. ShopFactory is a brilliant product!!!

  Pros

  With my Shopfactory 8.0 software I am attracting customers from all over the world. It supports multiple currencies and languages. This is very important to me since I ship my products all over the world.

  Cons

  It would be nice if the templates could be integrated with dreamweaver.

  Summary

  Great product. Multi currency functionality Worldwide shipping and tax calculation Shopfactory allows you to enable as many languages as you want on your online store. Store visitors can change between the different languages on your store, and view your products as well as perform orders in their language.

  Pros

  Shopfactory is one of those programs that's easy to use. It has a lot of features and many easy to use templates to choose from. The SEO (Search Engine Optim.) features implemented, helped to get my online shop in the top 10 of many search engines.

  Cons

  There is a slight learning curve. The SF Forum has helped me with many issues while getting more familiar with the software and all it can do. The FAQ is a little difficult to use and it does not always find the search words that I am looking for.

  Summary

  Overall I would highly recommend this product. My shops look great and they get lots of business.

  Pros

  The program truly answered my needs with putting up my business online. It's simple and effective. It had all the bases covered from making the site look great and down to the payment processing. It's a really great software!

  Cons

  There's a bit of a lag in the program as the shop grows bigger in size but I guess that's normal...

  Pros

  With ShopFactory Total care adding products, creating pages and designing your website is very quick and easy. ShopFactory Total Care totally satisfies my needs. It helps me in creating my online shop without difficulty.

  Cons

  The customer support has been very prompt and exceptional. And the development team is always open for request which allowing us to turn our thoughts and ideas into reality.
