Scrabble for Windows

Scrabble, made by Skunk Studios, is a computer-based implementation of the classic word board game. The software places letter tiles on a 15×15 grid, validates entries using an internal dictionary, and automatically calculates scores. It runs single-player sessions against a computer-controlled opponent and tracks cumulative points in real time.

Scrabble supports tile swapping through randomized replacement, manages board state and tile inventory internally, and includes background audio playback. All scoring, word validation, and session management occur locally, without requiring external computation, connectivity, or manual input. The system maintains internal records of each current game session state securely throughout gameplay.

Solo words

Scrabble applies the established 15×15 grid with double and triple-value multipliers. Each tile carries a predefined score, which the system totals automatically when words are submitted. It enforces adjacency and placement rules, ensuring that new words connect with existing ones. Word validation is carried out internally through the dictionary, blocking invalid entries. Tile swaps are processed randomly from the pool, and all state changes are stored within the running session.

The game enables tile selection, movement, and placement using a pointer-driven interface. It validates each placement in real time, updating scores and preventing illegal word submissions. Session statistics such as cumulative totals and per-word points are logged internally. The dictionary check operates before submission, confirming whether a sequence qualifies as a valid word under the preloaded ruleset. However, it’s a single-player game only.

The system manages randomization during tile swaps, recalculates totals instantly after each move, and preserves the active state of the board until the game ends. Background audio functions independently, while tile logic enforces placement rules. Data such as letter distribution, remaining tiles, and cumulative scores remain accessible for reference, ensuring that the game environment reflects accurate word-building and scoring conditions at all times.

Scrabble focuses on digital word construction using tile placement, scoring automation, and dictionary verification. Its system-level capabilities include internal tracking of board layout, remaining tiles, and cumulative points. Real-time validation ensures proper placement rules and updates the scoring accordingly. However, it's a single-player-only game. The custom board creation, online interactions, or modifications to scoring parameters are not supported within the software.
