  Similar to Bean but Bean is far better, and FREE.

  Cons

  If you set page margins, old default margins will come back unnanounced. Single page text with default margins will split into two pages with the second page top margin at 4.5 inches, even though the original text all runs together.

  WARNING: Dont get involved with this one man show. It is a world of hurt. Very shortly after downloading and starting to use Schreiben I got my first Peeving Demo reminder, as Michael likes to call them. Thats honest calling them Peeving, but does not take the sting away - they come fast and furious. When that first Peeving dialogue box came, I payed the $15. But for some reason, even though my credit card was debited, I kept getting the Peeving reminders. Finally with that and the other problems, I emailed him to refund my fee and shut me off the application. He said he couldnt do it without my signature. So I told him to keep the stinking $15 but close out my account. I dont know what he did but the Peeving reminders keep comming. I seems they will chase me to my grave.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Albert Einstein once observed that, "in simplicity, there is great beauty." In a more perfect world -- Schreiben would be the 'Word Killer' app. Powerful, yet uncluttered interface. Check out the precise typographic controls in heads-up display, or the amazing (and animated) tool to resize embedded graphics. Layout tools, color and font choices, styles, and amazing array of controls are are cleanly and clearly in one place, with helper files and callouts to identify icons if you need help. Licenses are far too inexpensive, and the process from being impressed to getting a license was less than five minutes -- which is almost how long it takes Word to launch. Oh, and the price -- Less than coffee at Starbucks. Schreiben is perhaps one of the best examples of why using a Mac is so much fun -- great software that just works...
