• AMAZING Technology!

  Pros

  Handles ALL of your media in one place, or on a server, client network. On top of that, it also works like slingbox and allows the user (me) to watch MY TV from anywhere. It appears more simple than even the slingbox system that my friend uses!

  Cons

  Requires some "figuring out" in order to connect to cable company. Even more in my case, using the server and several clients (although that wasn't bad). Being a little technical should probably be a requirement.

  Summary

  Wow, this is an amazing product. I'm blown away that CNET isn't all over this. I started this project thinking that it would be interesting and practical. I was dreading the setup and config. However, I was surprised at the smooth integration. I'm pretty technically capable, and my wife and daughters are still a little worred about dealing with this when I'm gone (if something goes wrong). However, the hybrid system combines web based video, HD cable, source from Dish Network, home movies, DVD, family photos and home security cameras! The system is amazing! My system includes dedicated computers for each TV as well as an XP box dedicated as the server. Additioanlly I have a 50/50Mbps fiber line, so media is easily downloaded. I would truely suggest playing with the trial version. However, it is difficult to buy all of the components just to "try" the software out. Never the less, you can play with the features and get the look and feel. I have yet to find a remote that I really love. The one that comes with the HD box, is OK; but, not flawless. So, if you have a bit of technical prowess, this beats the pants off of the canned systems like Dish PVR and TiVo!
