There are no positive qualities to list for this game. Customer support is non-existent.
Cons
I bought my so-called "lifetime password" a few years ago. It took a few weeks to really learn the game, and only a few months for it to get boring. After numerous issues and zero customer support, I quit playing it.
When I bought a new computer and I was transferring files from my old computer, I went ahead and added Rule the Rail as well. I hadn't opened the program in over a year, but I figured I'd go back and revisit it to see if they had improved it. Much to my surprise, my password was invalid on my new computer. I emailed the support team at brainbombers, but they won't reply (nothing new there).
If your computer is too slow to play this game, and you do upgrade to a more powerful computer, you've wasted your money and you will have to buy a new password, which means the game will cost you $38 instead of $19 to find out why there are more negative reviews than positive reviews for it.
Summary
Read all of the negative reviews before wasting your money on this one. The only reason I give the game 1 star is because there is no lower rating available.
Hard to rate if I can't install it!!!
raptor4444
Pros
No "Pros", since I can't install it!
Cons
The install box only shows step 1 with no step 2 button to continue the install. This occurs with this one Rule The Rails and Iron Horses.

Brain Bombers Classic !
48Leopard48
Pros
Very easy to set up especially for Windows Vista and windows 7.
Intuitive design makes it very easy to lay tracks and watch trains run with scenery. Blows away other Train simulators .
Cons
Its getting dated . The add-ons from other sites From skyscrapers to stadiums are great IF you can down load them properly ! Most People can't , a lesson in futility .
Summary
Hope Brain Bombers updates this classic !

Updated on Nov 6, 2011
Checkout Littleville Depot or Gnome RTR for help with 3rd party models, (trains buildings, etc)! These sites were excellent in helping me to move files to there proper locations so you can view them on RTR ! After about a year I would now rate this train simulation software at 5 stars for there support and FUN factor!
Model railroading for those without floor space.
Dmarends
Pros
Works great on my 64-bit Windows system.
Expandable, a large user base creating new objects and rolling stock.
Limited by computer size and imagination.
Cons
Larger layouts take fairly powerful machine to run smoothly.
Track laying is only moderately flexible, restricted to the sizes provided.
Summary
This is a great program for anyone who likes model railroading but doesn't have the room to build a "real" one. Layouts can be almost any size and trains can be controlled for speed and direction.
This is a true model railroading simulator, not a train simulator. Build your track plan, rural and urban areas, mountains, rivers, road crossings. Place buildings and people. Be as detailed, or not, as you wish.
If the base game and the expansion packs aren't enough for you, there are several user forums and websites devoted to even more add-ons.
Whether you like building the layout or just running trains, you'll enjoy this program.

A Very Greet Alternitive to Model Railroading.
attackwing
Pros
Like I said, it is a very great alternitive to model railroading. I have seen other programs like this program on the internet but they run about $100 Dollars or more. You may want to check out Rule the Rails twin, Iron Horses.
Cons
No Cons But, it may be a Graphics or RAM Hog to slower computers. In other words, the more objects you put on the layout, the slower it may become.
Summary
Everyone that has every wanted to have a running model railway but you do not have the time, room, or money to do so, Rule the Rail is a great cheap alternitive answer.
For full enjoyment, it costs $15 bucks to register and installing expantion packs. This is not bad at all compared to the $100 Buck or more for other programs. All in all this is a very great program that is easy to learn the basic controls such as placeing track, objects(Buildings, Trees, ETC), placing trains and railroad cars, and editing Terrain. If you are still stumped, there is an Adobe PDF manual included. For registering and expantion packs and more information, Visit Brainbomers.com

MandeeCam2
Pros
The game is fun and adiccting. I downloaded it for my son because he is a trainaholic. This and the Iron Horses game is part of a package deal Old Trains: New Trains. It is worth the money to buy it, $15 for 4 games, pluse you get a lot of extras!
Cons
It is a little difficult to understand at first but when you watch or download the detailed tutorials from their site, it is easy.
Summary
I would definitely reccomend the game. Not only is it fun and addicting, kids love it and you can get pretty creative in forming your own towns and cities.
