RoadSigns EE for Android

RoadSigns EE, developed by Base Hangar Works, is an Android study tool targeting mastery of Estonia's official road signs and traffic regulations. The app provides visual sign reference, interactive flashcards and customizable multiple-choice quizzes for focused exam preparation. Key capabilities include offline access, multilingual content in Estonian, English and Russian, a searchable catalogue, and a favorites system for targeted practice. It is designed primarily for student drivers, international residents in Estonia, and driving instructors seeking localized study material.

RoadSigns targets exam-style sign recognition and reference use

As an Android app it combines a searchable catalogue of every sign category defined in Estonia's traffic regulations with two study pathways: flashcard-based Learn Mode and Quiz Mode. Learn Mode offers a 'Blind' option to test recall and 'Full View' for explanation, while Quiz Mode lets users pick question counts and sign categories. The app's visual fidelity reflects the official regulatory descriptions.

Interactive practice features support focused repetition and targeted reviews

Interactive elements let learners convert passive reference into active practice. The app provides a favorites mechanism to build personalized study sets and a search function to retrieve signs by name or category quickly. Multilingual interface options in Estonian, English and Russian reduce language barriers for international residents. These features support short drill sessions or longer review periods, accommodating both quick lookups on the road and concentrated study before theory exams.

Suited to local learners and instructors with offline needs

Target audiences include student drivers preparing for the Estonian theory exam, international residents navigating local signs, and driving instructors assembling lesson material. Offline-first operation removes dependence on mobile signal during on-site lessons. Because content mirrors Estonia's regulations and EU-standard signs used in the country, the app functions as a focused study companion rather than a broad international reference, which affects utility for users outside Estonia.

A focused study companion with one institutional limitation

Set a daily short practice window, alternating sign categories to build rapid recognition and retention. RoadSigns is a practical option for learner drivers and instructors who need concentrated, locale-specific study support. Note that the app is developed independently and is not endorsed by the Estonian transport authority; instructors should verify alignment with their lesson plans when integrating it into classroom or on-road training.
