  1. Great virus protection 2. Completely restores your computer better than system restore. If you wanted to complete a bunch of viruses ridden offers in an attempt to get "free" game cash through malicious offers this program is your best friend, just make sure you have virtual mode active before you do so.

  Cons

  1. Sometimes refuses to start virtual mode 2. It's firewall tends to detect a lot of false positives. 3. Does not protect from key loggers so you must still be careful with them. They will remain and keep spying on you till you restart your pc (assuming virtual mode is on). 4. If you are foolish to keep it active 24/7 you will not be able to save any new changes to your computer till you disable virtual mode. (not really a con but some people don't research products before using them and to them they see this as a con)

  Summary

  Overall this is a great program but there's a lot of idiots who install it without any idea of how it works. This program clones your hard drives then all changes to your computer are applied to the clone portion. When you restart your computer the clone gets deleted which is the cause of the data loss people are complaining about. To get the most out of this program DO NOT set virtual mode to activate on start up, only enable it as needed such as before dealing with sites or programs you do not trust. Lastly if you wish to uninstall it you need to turn off virtual mode first then restart your computer after making sure virtual mode is off you can then uninstall it.

  The program did not work. I kept getting an error message. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It still didn't work.

  Pros

  This system pops up desktop messages about "potentially unwanted" stuff coming off the web. Not sure what I should do. Other than that, it causes no trouble. I haven't tried to uninstall. Haven't noticed a problem downloading or saving anything.

  Cons

  The pop ups are a nuisance. But that's part of the protection. I wish it gave more information on whether the item it "identified" is a risk or just junk files. How do I know?

  Summary

  The product appears to be working. I have no issues with the product so far. Neither do I have glowing praise because I don't understand everything it does. The product is not causing problems with anything else I do on my computer. I run VISTA 64.

  Okay, Returnil support, please show how this program can be removed without having to delete everything on my hard drive and starting over.

  Summary

  Returnil has lost me countless time---hours in trying to uninstall. It's got a mind of its own. You guys have created a monster. I do not see how CNet could recommend it. I installed it based on CNET's recommendation. Guys, you're responsible, so please offer a responsible and working solution to this huge problem.

• TAKES CONTROL AND WON'T GO AWAY

  THERE IS NOTHING TO LIKE ABOUT THIS SOFTWARE - CAN'T EVEN DO YOUR OWN SYSTEM RESTORE WHEN IT'S INSTALLED.

  MADE THE MISTAKE OF INSTALLING THIS ON MY DAUGHTER'S NEW COMPUTER AND SHE CAN'T SAVE ANYTHING - WORD DOCUMENTS, ITUNE SONG DOWNLOADS, ALL ARE GONE WHEN THE COMPUTER IS REBOOTED.

  BEWARE OF THIS DOWNLOAD - I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL THE DEVELOPERS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR GETTING RID OF IT AND IT REFUSES TO GO AWAY!

  It most certainly locks down a PC system.

  Cons

  For the casual user (already behind several firewalls), Returnil Virtual System (RVS) is way over the top.

  Summary

  I don't like the feeling of having my freedom to change my settings, apps, arrangment, etc., severely limited. Even my e-mail would not update - that was one of the worst results of installing RVS. It may work for networks and avid PC users with a lot of time on their hands, but "I've been there and done that", not to return(il) again!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Feb 25, 2010<p/>CJSC and Returnil Technical Support [support-tech@returnil.com] were contacted for assistance to remove the RVS, and the only response was, "It [my e-mail of MSINFO32 report and not being able to remove Returnil from my PC) has been submitted to our engineers for evaluation. We hope this response has sufficiently answered your questions." What answer? What technical support for the user?

• Worse than Useless

  Summary

  Returnil was very easy to download and install. HOWEVER, once I activated it, my computer crashed and took almost 10 minutes to reboot. I tried to delete the program, but it doesn't delete. I had to used Regedit to get rid of most of it, but it was still there. The only way to truly get rid of it is to wipe your hard drive and reinstall the operating system. Don't download this! Do NOT use it!!

  Couldn't uninstall this program at all, as there seems to be an error upon installation which is really starting to aggravate the hell out of me now. Pointless program unless you know what the hell you're doing. Seems I don't.
