• Too many limitations

  Pros

  Very helpful and friendly customer service representatives. Reports can be saved/exported as Excel or PDF files.

  Cons

  The manual is very vague. I had to learn a lot by trial an error. There were no instructions on how to fill out the import templates generated by the software. The templates are formatted for Excel 2003. The software does not allow you to delete mulitple old records with out affecting the entire database. If equipment is obsolete and you wish to clean out the clutter you will have to delete each item one at a time. Not very helpful when my department surplussed 300+ laptops and other equipment. When checking out equipment with the same due date you have to update the check in day/time for EVERY transaction. That becomes very tedious when handling dozens of employee check outs per day. No employee picture option. Can not track depreciation. Unable to scroll through records using arrow keys. Does not alert the user that an item being checked in was never scanned to be checked out.

  Summary

  Great if you have a small inventory of items - 500 or less and you don't change them out very often. The university I work for gets rid of technology over 5 years old and I have to rotate new items all the time. I feel that I will switch to a more comprehensive asset tracking software in the future.

  Doesn't work with x64-bit operating systems.

  Summary

  It might be really great software, but if you're operating a x64-bit operating system, don't expect this to run on your system with the included SQL install package. Why they haven't developed a 64-bit option I simply cannot understand. x64 is quickly becoming the standard. I'd love to try again when they package a x64-bit option.
