VIRTUAL REALITY

For those of you interested in virtual reality, recyPay does not currently involve the use of virtual reality technology or virtual reality headsets in any way. The recycling is considered virtual however because it does not occur in the real world but rather in a virtual recycling center.

REUSE

recyPay helps you reuse certain plastics by refilling them with their original contents. For example, let's assume you use laundry detergent pods to do your laundry: After your pods are finished, recyPay sends you new ones -- provided you order for them -- that you can use to refill your laundry pods container. Hence, you do not have to buy a new container of pods. Instead, you reuse your current one by refilling it. Our hope is that you reuse your plastic containers until they are no longer reusable. Reusing plastics helps reduce plastic waste, decrease environmental pollution, and increase energy conservation.

RECYCLING

Submit an item for recycling by scanning it.

If the item is unknown, you'll prompted to either identify it from a list of known items or add it.

After submission, your item is transferred to your Virtual Recycling Center (VRC.) If you don't have a VRC, it's saved until you create one.

A VRC contains a Virtual Battery. This battery provides the energy required to recycle. If the battery power is too low, it's impossible to recycle. To charge the battery, your footsteps are used. You also have the option to charge using a Virtual Battery Charger (VBC.) To do so, you turn on the VBC switch located next to your Virtual Battery. Fully charging the battery requires 73,920 footsteps.

Provided the Virtual Battery has enough power, recycling starts when the "Recycle" button located in the menu is tapped. It stops when any other button is tapped, when the app goes to the background, or when the battery's power becomes too low.

After your item has been recycled, $0.03 (USD) are added to your account balance. If the item was recycled using power generated by your footsteps (Recycled by you,) an additional $0.02 (USD) are added to your account balance. But if the item was recycled using power generated by someone else's footsteps, that person gets the $0.02.

FOOTSTEP SHOP

Footstep Shop is a place for you to sell your footsteps.

RECYMARATHON

recyMarathon rewards you for recycling the most on any given day. Your reward is randomly selected and added to your account balance.

MODE OF PAYMENT

recyPay pays you using eGift cards. However, you may choose "Other Gift" if you prefer to be paid differently.

In no particular order, listed below are the gift cards you may choose from:

- Amazon.com eGift Card

- Target Gift Card

- Walmart eGift Card

RECEIVING YOUR GIFT CARD

To receive your eGift card, you go to the "Account" section of recyPay and tap the "Transfer" button located at the bottom.

You will be prompted to select the gift card you want and subsequently to provide an email address to which the gift card should be emailed.

If all goes well, you will finally see a message specifying when your gift card will be emailed to you.

If you prefer to be paid differently, select "Other Gift" and follow the subsequent instructions.

VRC RENT

The rent for a VRC is $0.99 (USD) and is due before your first gift card is sent to you. To pay your rent, tap the "Pay Rent" button located at the bottom of the "Account" section.

ART

recyPay also sells artwork -- recyArt -- that has been created using recycled materials.

RECYPAY'S GOAL

To incentivize recycling in the real world by incentivizing it in the virtual world.

In the real world, our hope is that you follow your community's guidelines in relation to recycling.
