  -perfect 7:1 surround sound -easy usage -compatible with any sound card even on board one

  Cons

  -terrible sound delay 200-500ms

  Summary

  Everything you hear with surround on will have delay on it which pretty much ruin all FPS game. You can literally hear the gun sound 0.3 second after you press your left mouse button which make tap firing impossible. Lip syncing in movie/cutscene is completely screwed.

  Pros

  It really does what it says. The 7.1 surround sound works like charm! I really love the bass booster provided by this software.

  Cons

  The only problem is when it comes to the audio output delay, which is about 300ms. Not good for recording music and such.

• Too Intrusive, No Clean Uninstall

  Pros

  Don't know, I didn't want to set up an account just to try it!

  Cons

  I didn't realize it was going to be so intrusive. I didn't realize it would also install Synapse, nor that it required a Login and Account to use. I uninstalled, but a search of the registry has traces of it everywhere. Should have monitored the install, but it's buried so deep... After the install I had no sound, but Win* fixed itself.

  Summary

  This may be fine if you really want it and use it, but I don't appreciate the big stain it left after an unintall.

  Pros

  In-game sound mapping vastly improved. More ambient background noise/music. More startling sound from events outside field-of-view.

  Cons

  Rear-satellite channels could not map accurately... perhaps due to limitations of headphone drivers? (SONY MDR-Z700)

  Summary

  Free surround sound tool for headphones, with sound field presets and customization? Yes, please! Already using Synapse2.0? This is a no-brainer. Well done, Razer... but of course.

• A fantastic piece of software

  Pros

  -Custom tuned to Razer headphones. -Customizable audio regions (default was fine for me) -Works with any headphones whatsoever. -Bass boost, stereo widening, and equalization filters among other things. -Cloud sync of settings, just like your keyboard macros.

  Cons

  There were no negatives for me personally besides some games only supporting 5.1 surround sound, however this is not a flaw caused by this product. Some might find it annoying having to signup for synapse 2.0, but I already had an account already having a Blackwidow stealth tourney keyboard and its quite convenient having settings stored in the cloud.

  Summary

  I initially downloaded this because I have a pair of Razer Electras which I absolutely love, and the idea of getting surround sound with them intrigued me, in addition to already being a user of Synapse 2.0. It takes some getting used to, but listening for the locations of gunfire and such is quite helpful in game.
