Did little or nothing.
blancheirving- Pros
- Caused no harm, apparently.
- Cons
- Useless, as far as I could tell.
- Summary
- I have a non-RAMRush memory monitor to watch in real time, so if this software had triggered any improvement, I would have observed it. Nope! Of course in another OS my experience may not be duplicated. I use Vista, and it allegedly does its own decent job of managing the RAM. Maybe so, but using the claimed-to-be-very-different CleanMem, I do observe a very substantial improvement. I will be keeping that instead!
The best working free memory optimizer!
Batchoy2- Pros
- It's plug and play! Very light on resources and acts quickly when your memory is about to peak out.
- Cons
- When in the process of optimizing the memory, it takes a few seconds and halts your work but it's really barely noticeable.
- Summary
- I have this on my 4 computers- 2 laptops and 2 desktops. It really works!

Updated on Apr 20, 2011
I was tempted to try other free "memory optimizing tools' but I recently went back to RAMRush. This is an essential especially for the "not so powerful" machines like mine- a netbook.

Updated on Apr 20, 2011
I was tempted to try other free "memory optimizing tools' but I recently went back to RAMRush. This is an essential especially for the "not so powerful" machines like mine- a netbook.

Updated on Apr 22, 2011
Working smoothly on both of my computers - one using Vista Home 32bit and the other using XP Home SP3. Just a suggestion for a really flawless performance, on the Options menu, check only the following: - Run RAMRush when Windows Startup -AutoOptimize when memory amount is lower than 8% of total RAM
It works just fine
undomiel_- Pros
- I just installed this, I didn't even need to reeboot, and it was giving results already! I'm impressed O.O
- Cons
- None so far
- Summary
Few Options - Can't shut it down once loaded
Lord_Glorfindel- Pros
- It may clear RAM ok, although I didn't test that. It is free.
- Cons
- No way to shut it off or close it once loaded. You have to use Process Explorer or Task Manager to force it closed. Very few RAM clearing options.
- Summary
- It is free and if you don't mind keeping it loaded all the time, it might prove worth having. Otherwise, look elsewhere for a utility with more user options.
wrking for me so far
gbswales1- Pros
- easy to use and to optomise memory
- Cons
- havent found any yet
- Summary
- simple memory manager that works just fine with windows 7
This little download does the trick!
denigma78- Pros
- Automatically kicks in with no interaction needed! Small download and doesn't seem to interfere with other programs. Can't believe a lot of people have not downloaded it.
- Cons
- Too quiet! At first, didn't think it was working because it's not obtrusive.
- Summary
- Once you download it and start using it, you will probaly think that it does not work, but that is not the case. I watched my task manager like a hawk when I had multiple tabs opened using IE8. We all know Chrome and IE8 are ram intensive b/c of their seperate tab processes, and plus I only have one gig of ram. When my memory usage crept past 70, this little trick stepped in and brought it back down to around 55. I didn't even notice it take back some of my ram, b/c my computer didn't seem to hiccup. Nice download!
One of the best optimizer program
stemurs- Pros
- it's a helpful program
- Cons
- Summary
Excellent!
maddy_lover- Pros
- I have used this software on SERVER 2003, to free memory so, the process wont stop.
- Cons
- It would be beneficial if they include the leak reason or the leak processor option.
- Summary
- it Simply does what it says
Gave me a lot of problems
basicreviewer2000- Pros
- Not much. Interface seemed intuitive.
- Cons
- Didn't produce a desktop icon upon installation. Lots of warnings from Trend Micro (one was *high* risk). Couldn't reinstall. Didn't soup up RAM more than another product.
- Summary
- Wasn't worth the effort - no desktop icon upon installation, multiple warnings from Trend Micro (one was *high* risk), couldn't reinstall, and the program certainly didn't supersoup up my RAM. Maybe try the "smart RAM" utility in Advanced SystemCare Free 3.3.4 - doesn't exactly supersoup up my RAM, but it's free and there weren't any of these problems.

Updated on Aug 12, 2009
Was wrong about the desktop icon, but all else stands. Also, "smart RAM" utility in Advanced SystemCare Free 3.3.4 *does* free up a considerable amount of RAM.
