  I was looking for a robust, yet easy-to-use program to help with source code control for my website. After evaluating about a half-dozen open-source programs (and becoming a bit over/under whelmed), I thought I’d check out the QVCS product. I’m not a revision-control expert but the QVCS product seems to offer me everything I need. <p> <p>Downloading, installing, and setting up my project took about 15 minute’s total. That’s pretty good for a source-control novice. I was spending hours with the open-source programs just trying to figure out how to get started. I also like the windows interface with QVCS as opposed to a command line that seems to dominate the open-source programs. <p> <p>My development “environment” is Macromedia. While not a direct integration, the two products behave very well together. Upon creating your project, QVCS locks the project files and these locks appear in the Macromedia file panel. Since downloading I’ve updated several web pages and have been satisfied with the level of information stored for the revisions. <p> <p>I can’t comment on a lot of the extended features of the product (multi-user, branching, hosting, etc) as I haven’t had the need for them yet. I also can’t comment on how the product stacks up to advanced revision-control requirements. Again, I needed to get the project running quickly without a long learning curve. This product fit the bill!

  Cons

  With my download there wasn't an installer. You simply extract the files and run the executable from wherever you extract the files. The app still runs fine and you can always manually add a program group in the start menu. This isn't that big of a deal, just something to be aware of.
