As one of the four top-ranking reciters in Egypt, he recorded the complete Quranic text in both styles of recitation, murattal (tarteel) andmujawwad(tajweed) and was the first to record and broadcast the murattal style. Sheikh al-Husary is known for the correctness of his recitation (tajweed).Mahmoud Khalil al-Husary was one of the most esteemed reciters of his time.
