• OUTSTANDING Photo Editor With EXCEPTIONAL FEATURES!

  Pros

  1. PT Photo Editor is very easy to learn and even easier to use. 2. PT provides all the tools needed to transform ordinary photos into pro-looking pix. 3. PT offers awesome features not found in most other photo editors. My fave feature is 'regional editing' (see Summary section for explanation). 4. PT offers a large set of 1-click Special Effects filters that add professional touches to your photos. 5. PT's customer service and tech support is first-class. The PT folks reply quickly and bend over backwards to help. 6. PT's Pro version is an incredible bargain at $29...because it is equally as powerful and good as Photoshop Elements that costs $69 to $79.

  Absolutely NO Cons (and if you look my other CNET reviews, you will see I am very tough on software vendors who don't meet the mark of excellence!).

  Summary

  Photoshop remains my number #1 editor for very fine work. But for web photos, I ditched Photoshop Elements in favor of PT Photo Editor for fast effective editing with great results. *** REGIONAL EDITING with PT My favorite PT feature is the unique Regional Edits. Let me explain. Let us suppose you took a great shot that is spoiled by a big dark shadow. In most photo editors, if you adjust the brightness, it effects the entire photo...thereby 'lighting' up the shadows but also washing out the colors of the areas that didn't need an increase in brightness. HOWEVER, PT allows you to select a 'region' (such as a dark shadow) whereby your 'adjustments' only effect that selected region. Awesome! (Of course, you can do that with Photoshop...but it takes a lot more effort.)

  Pros

  Really nice layout structure. Very easy to use. Amazing there are so many useful editing tools with such a light weight. The results are even better than zoner and acdsee.

  No image management tool.

  If you just need a photo editing program, it's a great low-cost alternative to lightroom ,acdsee...
