Comprehensive, easy to use, excellent value for money

Pros
It can be used to produce a wide variety of charts very quickly. It is very easy to mark points, draw lines and save or load the graphics. It has a huge number of useful features. The 'How To' feature is particularly worth mentioning.
Cons
There is very little to dislike about this program. One possible complaint is that there is no formal' Help' facility, but the 'How To' feature does compensate for that.
Summary
Have used the program only for about a month, and haven't had time to fully explore all its features as it has so many new and varied ones. First impressions were that it is a very easy program to use. The ability to plot the various psychrometric properties against any set of parameters on the axes is, as far as I know, unique. The ability to investigate the effect of altitude on psychrometric properties is very useful. Up to 4 different pressures can be shown on the same chart and when a point is marked, the properties corresponding to each of the 4 pressures are displayed. This is a very effective way of understanding how the various properties change with altitude and pressure. The feature that deals with the dew point and condensation of compressed air is equally new and useful. It is also very easy to use. If the conditions before compression are known, you can easily find out the dew point corresponding to any pressure. You can also find out the amount of condensate that would be produced at any given temperature. Most calculators that I have seen, require the Dry Bulb Temperature as one of the inputs. This is the only calculator that I have seen which accepts any two parameters as inputs. I don't think any existing psychrometric software has all the features found in PsychroGen 2. I would tend to agree strongly with the manufacturer's claim that is an aid to teaching/learning/using psychrometry. I purchased the 3 year licence (extended to 5 years during the special offer period) and that works out at £1.00 per month, which certainly has to be excellent value for money for such a powerful utility!
