While hardly a master, this elementary video-poker simulation makes a decent practice tool for folks who don't mind its pesky nag windows. Don't expect to find any fancy poker variations here: Poker Master restricts you to a basic five-card draw. You start off with $50 worth of chips, but you can only bet against the house, not a friend or online opponent. The graphics won't blow any minds, but they get the job done without being a turnoff. We would like the ability to customize the card deck, change the table view, or resize the main window, but Poker Master doesn't offer any features other than the ability to select from a number of languages. You won't find any bundled help files, and the trial version pops up several nag windows that can't be disabled. However, if you just want a no-frills way to play a few hands of poker every now and then, this program can meet your needs.
