  First of all I have high speed so it was worth finding out for myself. This program rust makes a color coded map. Differant colors for elevation and terrain. Might be good for earth science projects but if you want to create a map for a game this would hardly be worth downloading on modem. Would like map making to have more features and with a zoom option. I admit that it could be used for other purposes but not for creating a whole 2d or 3d world.

  Gives nice detailed maps. Using BMP is fine with me, ... I program alot in turbo-pascal still (yeah, old stuff ;D) and this solves me some trouble. I attempted such a project myself once. It worked fine, but this planetgen is way better then mine. To bad though the 3d view doesn't seem to be compatible with DirectX-9.0a, as it said it couldn't find a compatible DX. But the map production is great!!
