Photo Naming Assistant Pro was designed to give consistent and meaningful names to digital photo files while minimizing the work on the user's part. The application is customizeable to allow flexibility in building the photo names.

The user starts by selecting a folder with photos and then the application automatically identifies those photos that have not been named presenting those to the user for naming. A resizeable thumbnail of the current photo is shown. The user then chooses a photo naming pattern and specifies a base name that are used in constructing the photo name. Finally the user chooses whether to rename just the current photo or use the current selections to rename all the rest of the unnamed photos in the current folder. The application automatically makes sure that each photo gets a unique name.

A photo naming pattern describes how to build a photo name including how to make the name unique. A pattern can include a combination of the picture taken date, photo file metadata, parts of the original file name, where to insert the base name, and where to insert the integer that makes the resulting name unique. Photo Naming Assistant Pro comes with sixteen photo naming patterns built in and the user can create as many additional patterns as they want. Additional pattern descriptions can be entered by hand but dialogs are provided to make the task easier. A serious time saver!

Pros
Batch and individual file renaming is a breeze. Everything is at your fingertips within a single window making it super quick to use with as few clicks as possible. Good job on the UI layout.
Cons
I wanted to rename my files in a very unique way that was not possible yet, so I contacted the developers and it sounds like they will be adding new functionality based on my feedback... now that's a good software development company!

Pros
I think I was the first one to purchase the Photo Naming Assistant, thinking it could be a helpful program. Could be? More like DEFINITELY is a helpful program! I just returned from a trip to Rwanda, Kenya, and Rome, and had hundreds of photos with those fun multiple digit and letter names. Using the Photo Naming Assistant, I was able to rename literally HUNDREDS of photos in just a few seconds. I was finished in under one minute. This task would have taken me an hour to do one at a time. THANK YOU, Bobolink software for this great product!

Summary
If you take pictures with a digital camera or phone, and then transfer them to computer, and then actually try to FIND them later you will LOVE this program! You can quickly and easily name dozens and even hundreds of files. The product works as advertised and is well worth the $20.00!
