People Over Papers - Alerts for iOS

People Over Papers - Alerts is an innovative community safety application designed for iPhone users, providing crucial real-time updates and resources related to local enforcement activities and hazards. This app features an interactive map that allows users to visualize community-sourced reports, alongside a dedicated feed for recent incidents. The app also includes an SOS alert function and an Encounter Mode, which enables discreet documentation during potentially stressful interactions. Targeted towards community organizers, immigrants, and those seeking immediate safety information, it combines practical tools with educational resources for enhanced community awareness.

The interactive map serves as a neighborhood watch tool, offering users a visual representation of local activity, which can help in planning safer routes. Encounter Mode enhances user experience by providing features like video recording and a fake lock screen for documenting incidents discreetly. The app is compatible with iOS 15.6 or later, making it accessible to users with recent Apple devices. Privacy is a priority, as the developer claims that no user data is collected; however, advanced features like PDF exports require an account-based subscription, which may limit some users' abilities to fully utilize the app's documentation capabilities.
