Has its limitations

Pros
It did read over 90% of the characters in the .pdf file.
Cons
But even though it had the option to convert to WORD, when it converted to Open Office, it did so only as a spreadsheet file not a document/text file. When I converted to HTML, it became a table.
Summary
If you just need a spreadsheet or table format, and you don't own WORD, this might work for you. But for over $100 it's not for me.
Works well with scanned PDF documents

PDF2XL OCR offers a one week free trial, but after talking to their customer support they extended it for another week.

I like PDF2XL. It does most of the work for me, and saves me a lot of time.

It worked fast, smoothly and with hardly any mistakes :) saved me loads of time that I would have normally been spending manually entering data to spreadsheets!

Easy area selection: by each page or across document - the best OCR this kind of problem. Converted scans and the program walked me through corrections one cell at a time for the characters it found questionable (it found all of the errors)
Cons
a bit pricey for a one trick pony (but worth it if you have reams of data to convert).

Spent 20 minutes downloading only to have it tell me to buy the product. Didn't even get to try it first.
Summary
I downloaded this "trial" software and installed it. As soon as I did that and tried to launch it it said that the trial version was over. I have never downloaded this product before and I'm the only one that's ever used this computer. Don't waste your time.
