Used PBreak 2.6 dowint.NET for Windows?
Editors’ Review
If you've got time and don't mind interrupting your Web surfing, this free Firefox extension downloads and saves videos from Web sites like YouTube and Metacafe. If this doesn't sound like a strong endorsement, that's because it isn't.
It took us a few minutes to figure out how to access PBreak 2.6 dowint.NET. A Help menu isn't included, and it isn't immediately obvious how to get started. Forging gamely ahead, we visited video content sites and selected one for viewing. A pink arrow was then visible in the right corner of the browser. Clicking it took us to the dowint.NET Web site to download the video, but rather than opening a new tab or window, it used the window in which we were viewing the video. We didn't appreciate this interruption or that we had to navigate back to the page we were viewing after the download was complete. A small pop-up window would have done the trick. On top of that, it took an eternity to download the video.
This isn't the most user-friendly download tool, and it doesn't compensate with lightening speed. It may be free, but we suggest video lovers find a different way to download and save them from the Web.
