  Pros

  It includes everything a manufacturing facility will need for planning and scheduling tasks. It contains functions that package ERP software has, it also contains features ERP software does NOT have, especially the finite scheduling part.

  Cons

  It includes comprehensive planning logic some of which may over spec to my needs.

  Summary

  It is not only a demo, it actually works with someone's own data set if data structure are the same. It also provides a data structure template. A lot of the planning and scheduling features are presented in the system. It does not seem to contain to much of the computer program but more local excel techniques which allows the planning and supply chain professionals to complete the system themselves without too much support required from IT guys.

  Pros

  Complete functionality with no hidden content. This is shareware at it's very best. This is a comprehensive demonstration of how advanced planning and scheduling logic can be realised in Excel with near enterprise-grade functionality

  Cons

  Understanding complexity requires a time commitment. You can see the power of the system from a quick browse, understanding it will take some time. However, it is fully functional and can easily be customised to a different product.

  Summary

  MRP systems are based upon a 50 year-old logic and all of the compromise and heuristics that were necessary with the very first computer systems. The PS cycles system elegantly demonstrates the finite logic that is lacking in MRP, even today. It is now clearly proven that finite capacity planning and production scheduling is not limited to those companies, few and far between, that can afford APS (and actually get it to work). The PS Cycles product shows that this capability is available to all and provides it free of charge with no restrictions based on an attempt to extract money. Time spent playing with this system will be richly rewarded.
