• Excellent data handling for WorkDay or an HR System

  Pros

  Our HR group just finished a 3-month project consolidating all our people data into Workday and we needed a method to validate the organization and perform headcount analysis. We had fits and starts with different tools, but OrgChart Pro (which strangely was not easy to find) was instrumental in turning the WorkDay people data into great looking organisation charts, useful for headcount and span of control analysis as well as helping everyone validate that we had the right people in key positions. Our experience with OrgChart has been that it is wonderfully flexible with our company's workforce data. Graphics and outputs looked great, but this program's ability to manage personnel data and provide a method for easy updates was what helped the most in validating our Workday conversion.

  Cons

  At first it seemed like too many options. Later these proved mostly useful.

  This was a great find.

• Very good product for larger charts

  I bought this product because I needed an easier way to build a number of large charts for our year-end appraisal and talent management effort. I was very impressed with how my spreadsheets were quickly converted into charts that I could then use for a color-coded evaluation process. I am REALLY pleased with the outputs and how this has so wonderfully supported my team in the HR management process. Bottom line: this application has saved us hundreds of hours and has also given us time to do a more thorough job in identifying and addressing personnel gaps and strengths. Again, great product.

  I really can't complain about anything. It was exactly what I needed.

  Summary

  I really appreciated the features that OrgChart offered which I didn't have with my previous chart applications. In particular the "Analytics" feature, which saved me so much time from having to manage that information separately. I was pleasently surprised at all the functionality throughout the program. It seems like they've thought of everything you might want to do with an application like this.

  Pros

  Very easy to upload our HR data and instantly create an org chart and then customize it. The powerful conditional formatting capabilities made our re-org planning a breeze, and also let us easily compare before and after views of the organization.

  Cons

  A little pricey but more cost-effective than anything else we checked. Since we'll be using it frequently it's a great investment that we've never thought twice about. It saves us hundreds of hours or labor, futzing, and delays every year.

  Summary

  Glad there's a quality, easy-to-use application like this for automating the tedious job of organization chart creation.

• Easy data import and presentation

  Pros

  Data import makes a fast job of creating an organization chart. Chart formatting is preserved when source data changes and the chart is refreshed. Boxes can easily show or hide any field.

  Cons

  The audio on your tutorial video has some static on it. Please fix.

  Summary

  Under pressure to create a chart for an organization of 350 people, the data import wizard was a huge help. I took personnel information from our directory and created a chart by import in less than one minute. The process was easy and the chart was neatly paginated according to management levels. This made it very readable and useful in our succession planning efforts. This program has a wonderful interface for customizing box formats and selecting data to show or hide. I learned it pretty quickly and created our charts with ease.

  Great power comes with some complexity - but was easy to figure out.

  Summary

  In particular I thing the Format Painter / paint brush option is fantastic. Works just like excel or MS-Word. These guys made a conditional formatting option that can color or texture specific individuals in a large chart - i.e., contractors - providing excellent visual presentation. I also liked the conditional headcount calculations that can be tweaked to omit contractors from total headcount or budget summaries. For formatting and visual presentation it does not get any better than this. Great job.

  Pros

  The new auto-formatting has made this an easy-to-use and excellent tool for creating org charts and sharing employee information. The previous version was very good, and this is even better yet. Thank you.

  Cons

  A PDF publishing feature would be appreciated.

  Summary

  The auto box-sizing is the single most helpful feature added in some time. It has saved us a lot of time. Very nice product.

  Pros

  Many publishing options, ability to store project documentation, ability to automate the orgchart, excellend ability to import excel data to create the chart.

  Cons

  Some of the formatting took a little experimentation but it did work well.

  Summary

  My project team benefited greatly from the charts that we published to the web. We were also able to attach project dicumentation so that everyone could get to it. This program does considerably more than organization charts.
