Though the plot and action of this role-playing game are entertaining, graphic technology has come a long way since Odium was released. You're part of a team of blocky government soldiers sent to a spooky Russian former spy-training facility to root out a bunch of mutant monsters. There are plenty of puzzles to solve and comrades to rescue, and many nasty things are hiding around dark corners. Yet it's hard to suspend disbelief when the world in which you're adventuring is simply flat and uninspiring. Characters are crudely drawn and the scenery has little realistic texture. Though we could move our character around easily, it's tough to navigate with the program map. Odium's soundtrack keeps the hairs on your neck at attention, but unless you want to be a deaf soldier, we suggest you cut the volume a few points before play. Overall, Odium is an exciting adventure that will keep you interested, as long as you can look past the wimpy world.

after downloading it, whenever i click on the icon, or try to delete it or any, a fatal error screen comes comes up. Unless you want to mess up your comp... DONT DOWNLOAD IT

This game has a lot of potential. I actually own the full version, and I got it for $5. That should say a lot. The graphics, and sound are good; the characters actualy talk in it. I also like the battle system in it. I really don't see a problem in turn based fighting. But, despite this, there are many flaws. One thing is the leveling system. After someone gets a level up, they only get 5 points to raise their stats, and it doesn't do anything! For example, they have about on average 150 HP each at the begginging. 5 more isn't that much, and thats just 1 out of the 6 stats you can raise. Another thing is that there is not random battes. This means you cannot level up to fight bosses. This makes it very hard to proceed in the game. Another thing is that supplies are extremely scarce. You only start with 12 rifle bullets, and 12 pistol bullets. Another con is that if anyone dies, you lose. You can't revive them or anything like that. Overall this is a good RPG gone bad.

This is a very good game. This is a board game in the concept of D&D. Would I recommend it? No. Why? It is turn based, which takes away form the overall enjoyment of the game. This make the game boring after playing it for 1 hour. When one of your team dies the game is over. Pooh. C

I was SO excited to play this game from what I'd read about the storyline. It promised to be the best of survival horror (like Resident Evil) combined with conspiracy theories (big X-Files fan) and action roleplay (like Baldur's Gate. I was SADLY disappointed. The demo was short for the download time. There were a couple of places to duck into and a few neat puzzles to solve, but that's it. The graphics were okay, though they appeared really blocky and the concept design for the monsters was really lame. The animation was twitchy and fake looking. The system for combat was really aggrivating. First of all it is turn based and not real time, then movement and targeting are really hindered by unrealistic restrictions. I found myself unable to hit monsters standing in plain view because they weren't lined up in a perfect straight or diagonal line with my character. Is it a good download? Sorta. Is it really worth it? Well...not really.
