This app contains complete offline map coverage of the South Island of New Zealand from the LINZ Topo 50 1:50000 scale series. The maps are all contained in the app so there is no additional waiting for downloads, and the maps are all integrated so you can zoom and pan seamlessly across the whole island at full 1:50000 scale.No cell phone or internet connection is required. Full map and GPS tracking functionality operates independently.The app features current location marking (GPS), compass orientation, background track recording, track and waypoint import/export (KML), distance to map locations, and a search feature for named places on the map.Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background, if this feature is used, will dramatically decrease battery life (compared to when the GPS is not being used).
