This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I bought this app a couple years ago and every so often still check out other notepads. I just realized this one does a little thing that other nice highly rated ones don't do: you can drag a folder of notes, or pictures, or sound files, into this program and it automatically lists them (names and all) without any other work on your part. I just found this out.... after trying to do it in the other demos I was checking out. My NotePad Deluxe was the only one of the others I demoed that did that. Very cool.
This app is rock solid, and I have everything stored in it, many very very full databases, all categorized. It handles it all, never corrupts, never gets accidentally overwritten, or loses data. Also, the databases are easy to find and backup, named and located in a folder of your choice. Terrific app!
Very stable, incredibly usefull and flexible...

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've used NotePad Deluxe since Oct 2002. While it has an odd and somewhat quirky"look" and simplistic interface, it is an exceptional tool for keeping freeform notes and all sorts of other info.
I do wish the developers would update the "look and feel" but I'm very happy that this latest release (v2.3.5) fixed a few things that had been bugging me for over a year. I was fortunate to have been give an early release of this version after writing directly to the developers. Kudos to them for keeping this wonderful application alive...!
Great product

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have used this product for a couple years now and find that it is the best place to keep all of the notes related to many diferent jobs. It is very easy to organize and very powerful in search abilities. Since Tiger I no longer use it though since it is not integrated yet with spotlight. With spotlight I am now in the habit of using command - option - spacebar and typing in the first few letters of whatever I am looking for. I lauch apps, find contacts and appointments, find documents, etc. all with the spotlight search technique. What Notepad Delux needs most is the ability to interate with spotlight and it will be a must have for everyone.
I think it's all over for NPD

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
From the first day I used NotePad Deluxe it was, for me, the best implementation of a Mac-like, flexilbe, intuitive Note Pad. It's now been a long time since anyone from the developer's site has shown any indication of updating this app.
It's dead! Too Bad.
For others who knew and love NPD, what is the next best Note Pad?
Simply the best

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have checked out some possible replacements just in case and have found nothing as intuitive for storing notes and info. This is one great app. A few new features would be cool like indented notes within notes, improved file links and note links, but I'm not complaining. Other outliners and so called notebook apps actually slow down my production, and the other notepad apps don't come close.
Just hoping it hasn't been forgotten.
2.3.3 is better for Jaguar

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using Notepad for years and like many others have been delighted with the program's great features and layout. Ibrium do take a long time to release new updates and features and so I was pleased to see the release of 2.3.4. I use 10.2.8 on my G4 and iBook and noticed a deterioration in performance after upgrading to the current version.
First of all I noticed that the app took longer to open and was not generally as snappy in use. Second and more irritating, I found that I could not grab the central divider in the browser window and so could not resize the two panes.
Luckily I had kept a copy of the previous version 2.3.3. and reverted to that which fixed both problems. It would appear that 2.3.4 should really just be used with 10.3.
These slight niggles aside, I cannot recommend Notepad Deluxe highly enough. 1 star off for slow development cycle and issues with performance under 10.2.8.
excellent!

NPD is in my startup items and remains open, and on my desktop all the time my computer is running. A trusted accessory. 100% recommendation.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
NPD has been updated! As I said in my last feedback, I feared that ibrium had closed down - apparently not. We now have a version updated for Panther which has fixed the minor issues there were. Along with this it seems more snappy than before - this could be due to some tweaking, or it could be just the result of fixing the mouse click issue.

Either way it's still a totally compelling and invaluable steroid-fuelled replacement for the old NotePad application. Use it and buy it - you won't regret it!
